Towards a Circular Economy: Analysis of the Use of Biowaste as Biosorbent for the Removal of Heavy Metals

Industrial human activity has led to the release of substantial amounts heavy metals into environment. Contamination water with such as lead, cadmium, copper, zinc, chromium, or nickel represents a serious problem. As part circular economy, it is appropriate use biowaste from agriculture, fisheries, and timber industry biosorbents. In this literature review, potential using these groups biosorbents for metal removal presented. Biosorption seems be alternative conventional technologies removing recovering wastewater, are uneconomical generate additional waste.
